Play Date Parties...With Something for Mommy!
Hi Coastal Mommies! My name is Teresa Howard and I'm a stylist with Stella ... [more]

Did anyone else notice how many different summer camp options and activities were available in our area?
I was at the Summer Camp expo at the old mall today and was favorably surprised by all the different camp options for this summer!
Cooking camps, art, soccer, (and other athletic camps), Mighty 8th camp (which sounded neat!), dance camps, tutorials, scuba diving, music, karate, health, sailing... WOW! There were so many!
I now have some further research to do - it's so great to have all these choices!

that's great
you could join many activities just within your area. That is so unlike in our area. No one has interest in doing any stuffs. That's why I am just inside our house doing custom research papers and custom term papers. :(
More brains than brauns
I was pretty amazed to find computer camp! I send mine to iD Tech because they love playing video games so much... might as well see what it takes to make them.

He attended the Pooler YMCA
He attended the Pooler YMCA Summer Camp. I'm definitely putting him back into it this summer. He's been begging me all year. :)

I was very pleased also
We went to the Expo and my boys were overwhelmed by all of the options. We just moved here two months ago, so we weren't sure what to expect as far as summer entertainment and enrichment. We also came from year-round school and we're not used to such a long summer! I was disappointed that the Mighty 8th's camp was for the younger kids though. My son will be entering 6th grade and the camp was for 1st-5th. He's my military history buff and was really hoping that camp would be a choice for him. We're not sure which camps to pick! Anyone have reviews from previous experiences? Dizzygirl, which YMCA camp location did your little one attend?
My little one did the YMCA
My little one did the YMCA camp last year and LOVED it. They keep them busy all day, playing soccer, doing crafts, and swimming in the pool. There's also a different theme every week. Make sure to check into the one closest to you.
