How did I make it this long without my daughters?

And finally the mother becomes the child...

I have come to realize that I'm not that cool, young woman that I used to be. I'm now a married woman with two children who are growing at an incredible rate.

For some reason my daughters think that they need to take care of me. Keep in mind that they're only 10 and 7.

For example, I was getting ready to leave for work the other day and my 10-year-old stops me and says "Mommy, push your hair down. Pull your shirt down!". What? (My shirt wasn't really up - but it wasn't coming down over my hips like she preferred.)

Kids, get free ice cream from Leopold's

by abarnes

Look at what Leopold's is doing for kids! We just received this information from them:

SAVANNAH, GA, JUNE  29, 2010 —A local customer recently sent Leopold's Ice Cream an email suggesting that Leopold's Ice Cream reward school children who come in and recite the Pledge of Allegiance with a free ice cream cone.

This suggestion, shared by Jan Macchi, is a winner for Stratton and Mary Leopold—and for those kids who participate. The idea fits perfectly in July, when we celebrate both our nation's independence and National Ice Cream Month.

The big debate: Should schools provide condoms to elementary school students?

by abarnes

I was watching Headline News this evening and heard a story about giving condoms to first-graders. I was shocked. I could not believe what I was hearing.

Apparently there's a school board up north who has a policy that gives elementary school students access to condoms without the knowledge of parents.

Little Miss Perfect and other glitz pageants - just too much

Little Miss Perfect and other glitz pageants - just too much

My 7-year-old daughter loves “Little Miss Perfect”. Have any of you ever seen it? It comes on WE TV but my daughter watches episodes over and over again on On Demand.

These aren’t your typical pageants. These little girls look like grown women. They have the fake hair, spray tans, tons of make-up and even fake teeth known as “flippers”. These pageants are called glitz pageants.

What are your daughters saying about Justin Bieber?

What are your daughters saying about Justin Bieber?

What is it with teen pop singing sensation Justin Bieber? Little girls love him. Teenage girls love him. Even some grown women adore him.

I read that eight girls were taken to the hospital and several more were hurt when they surged toward a venue where the 16-year-old was supposed to be performing.

According to the Associated Press:

This has got to be the cutest thing I've ever seen. If your child is just starting to lose teeth - how about showing them a picture of them sleeping and the tooth fairy in the photo with them!!

You can try it for free and create the photo in 3 steps. Looks like if you choose to buy - then the price is relatively inexpensive. You can go online and create the photo at icaughtthetoothfairy.com. Click here for more information.
