Pre-K and Kindergarten Round-Up
9-10:30 a.m. Dec. 6. 1003 E. Victory Drive. Blessed Sacrament School will host its annual Pre-K and Kindergarten Round-Up on Dec. 6. A magical winter wonderland awaits parents and children as they are invited to explore the magic of Blessed Sacrament. Join the fun, explore the school, sample the expectations of early childhood education and register now for next year. Space is very limited. Port Wentworth Annual Tree Lighting
6:30 p.m. Dec. 7. Downtown Port Wentworth at City Hall. Port Wentworth will host the annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony Dec. 7. There will be food, fun and festivities directly following the ceremony at P.B Edwards Jr. Gymnasium. Come and see the new reveal of the gymnasium renovations! 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Dec. 8. Oglethorpe Mall, Macyâs Court. Oglethorpe Mall will host the Elf Academy, a special holiday event for military families. Children of active-duty military parents are welcome to participate in a variety of take-home crafts, special giveaways and face painting. This event is free.
Annual Holiday Gifts & Goods Sale plus a visit from Santa
11 a.m.-3 p.m. Dec. 8. Old Tybee School Cafeteria, 204 Fifth Ave., Tybee Island. The Tybee Island Garden Club is hosting a special holiday gift and goods sale to benefit the Tybee Island Garden Club. This yearâs holiday fundraiser will feature delicious baked goods, unique crafts made with natural elements and specialty plants. In addition, children will also enjoy a special appearance by Santa Claus, who will be on hand accepting childrenâs wish lists and special holiday requests. 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Dec. 8. Bamboo Farm and Coastal Gardens, 2 Canebrake Road. Parents, need to do some holiday shopping? Drop off your kids for a morning at the Bamboo Farm on Dec. 8 for Holly-Day Camp. The camp will include cookie decorating, ornament making and a nature walk ending with a visit to our famous Lordâs Holly tree. Please bring a sack lunch. The cost is $20 per child. Dec. 8-Jan. 6. Savannah Civic Center. SkateFest, the yearly public ice skating event at the Savannah Civic Center, kicks off Dec. 8 and runs daily through Jan. 6. With three to six public skating sessions daily, SkateFest is convenient for everyone. Each SkateFest session is 90 minutes long. SkateFest is closed on Christmas. Admission to SkateFest is $7 per person for skaters and spectators. Skate rental is included in the admission fee.
âAn Inconceivable Eventâ
5:30 p.m. Dec. 8. Carmike 10 Savannah. On Dec. 8, for one night only and to honor the 25th anniversary of this incredible movie, âThe Princess Brideâ will come to the big screen at Carmike Theater, 511 Stephenson Ave. in Savannah. To mark the occasion, a pre-event called âAn Inconceivable Event!â will take place in the parking lot before the screening, with a percentage of the proceeds to benefit Girls on the Run of Coastal Georgia. Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for children 18 and younger. Tickets to the screening are $10 and are sold separately.
Tybee for the Holidays

December Nights and Holiday Lights
Dusk-9 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, through Dec. 23. Bamboo Farm and Coastal Gardens, 2 Canebrake Road. Join us for 11 nights as we illuminate the gardens with holiday lights and music. All proceeds will go to fund the Childrenâs Garden at the Bamboo Farm. $5 per person.
Savannah Childrenâs Choir presents âHoliday Radio Hourâ
4 p.m. Dec. 9. Asbury Memorial United Methodist Church, 1008 E. Henry St. The SCC will present its annual holiday concert, âHoliday Radio Hourâ on Dec. 9 at Asbury Memorial United Methodist Church. Using the framework of an old-time radio show, the concert features the Primary, Preparatory and Premier choirs of the Savannah Childrenâs Choir, and songs from around the world and throughout time, and even includes participation from the audience.
