FAMILY EVENTS: Savannah Asian Festival, Ferrari Grand Prix, 'Summer Fun Day' and more!

Savannah Asian Festival
11 a.m.-5 p.m. June 11, Savannah Civic Center, 301 W. Oglethorpe Ave. The festival features live musicals, martial arts and dance performances, and samples of Asian cuisine. Free admission. 'Summer Fun Day'
10 a.m. - 2 p.m. June 11, Daffin Park, 1500 E. Victory Drive, Coastal Victims Assistance Services (CVAS) is sponsoring the fundraiser that features fire trucks, police cars, ambulances, bounce houses and more. There will also be unclaimed clothing donated by local dry cleaners for sale. Free. Proceeds Benefits local first responders and disaster Victims. For information, call Laura Ziegler 912-596-7155.

Ferrari Grand Prix
12 p.m. June 8-12, 1 Resort Dr, The Westin Savannah Harbor Resort & Spa. The meet honors the challenge cars, drivers and teams as its themes. The legacy (348/355) and contemporary (360/430) cars will compete in a race to commemorate the series at America’s first Grand Prix, the 2.0 mile Grand Prize of America track on Hutchinson Island. World Wide Knit in Public Day
10 a.m.-12 p.m. June 11, Forsyth Park. Knitters and other fiber artists all over the world have designated this day to knit in a public location. Instructions (if needed) will be provided to anyone who stops by. Bring a chair, blanket, bottled water and your knitting or other fiber craft projects. Free Kids Activities at Skidaway Island State Park
June 8-12, Skidaways Island State Park, 52 Diamond Causeway. June 8 at 1 pm: Knot Tying - Come learn some handy knots for everyday use; 3 pm Coastal Reptiles - Learn all about them and see live ones. June 9 at 11 am: Animal Tracks; 3 pm Wilderness Survival - Lost prevention and simple items to take with you on a hike. June 10 at 11 am: Fossil Friday - Come check out fossils and artifacts that can be found around the park; 3 pm Fossil Rubbings - Learn how to do fossil rubbings and identify fossils. June 11 at 3 pm: Snakes Alive - Learn all about snakes and see live examples. June 12 at 3 pm: Interpretive Center Tour - Join in a tour of the museum, see and touch fossils, reptiles, and more.
