Mom Knows Best: Mona Lisa Castle

Growing up, my mom was super supportive of everything I tried. She encouraged me to try out for the volleyball team and play basketball, just like she did when she was growing up. When I did cheerleading at a young age, she never missed a game and watched us cheering more than the football game. When I decided to quit sports all together to start interning at a newspaper, she wasn't disappointed that I "quit". She never missed an article I wrote and encouraged me to follow my dreams.

Mona Lisa Castle is just that kind of mom. Over her daughter's 17 years, she's encouraged her to try everything. Castle says she didn't try a lot when she was growing up so she doesn't want her daughter to miss out on any opportunities. Over the year's, Lauren has participated in dance, softball, school organizations and so much more, and mom is right there behind her supporting her every step of the way.

In this week's Mom Knows Best, Castle talks about raising a teenage daughter from curfews to driving. She also talks about their shared traditions of watching Harry Potter movies and going shopping. Click play below to watch this week's installment of Mom Knows Best.
